Claude Code can now read an AGENTS.md file as project instructions when no CLAUDE.md file exists.
Teams working with several coding agents can therefore use the same instruction file instead of maintaining a separate file for each system.
As of publication, compatibility is not yet available in Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI or Microsoft Foundry environments.
This is a small interface update, but very useful for development teams trying to establish a shared standard for working with several coding agents.
